It's the beginning of the end for American Idol. The long-running series has selected its Top 3 for the last time.

The semifinals came to a close Monday night, and after eight weeks of semifinals, America chose Trent Harmon, Dalton Rapattoni, and La'Porsha Renae as season 10's finalists.

For two of the number, getting to the final round was a hard road. Rapattoni was nearly ousted following last week's stint in the Bottom 2, and, despite being a vocal powerhouse, Renae nearly suffered a last minute elimination during Monday's Bottom 2.

Instead, MacKenzie Bourg took the fall. The Louisiana native attempted to woo the voters with a rendition of the oft-played Hallelujah (contestant's choice), but just as during his season 3 stint on The Voice, Bourg was sadly voted off.

As the resident American Idol diva, Renae managed to keep her spot thanks to her performances of Glory (contestant's choice), Stay With Me (Scott Borchetta's choice), and Hello (judges' choice). Rapattoni, meanwhile, took on Calling You (contestant's choice), Dancing in the Dark (Scott Borchetta's choice), and Everybody Wants to Rule the World (judges' choice). Currently the No. 1 favorite, Harmon continued his rise to the top with Tennessee Whiskey (contestant's choice), Drink You Away (Scott Borchetta's choice), and Waiting Game (judges' choice).
