Kate Middleton Update: New Report Says Getting The Duchess To Attend Charity Fundraisers Is Like ‘Pulling Teeth’ [VIDEO]
Buckingham Palace is not going to like it when they hear this. Even though the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been making an effort to participate in their charitable organizations and attend more royal functions, there's a new scathing report that says getting Kate Middleton to attend fundraisers is like "pulling teeth."
According to the popular gossip blog Celebitchy, Kate is supposed to attend an ultra-exclusive party for 80 members of the country's high society. It will take place at Houghton Hall, Palladian stately home of the Marquess and Marchioness of Cholmondeley, and a short drive from Kate and Wills' home at Anmer Hall. The party is to help raise funds for the East Anglia Children's Hospice, which is a charity that Kate has been a part of for several years now.
But yet the Duchess is being criticized for only being willing to attend a fundraiser if it's a "fancy party full of posh people."
Some critics blasted her by saying, "I always applaud the very idea of Kate going to work and raising money for charity, of course the only way they're getting Kate out of the house is by getting her to attend a fancy party full of posh people," along with, "Why is it like pulling teeth to get Kate to attend/co-host charity fundraisers? Also - will Kate and William ever open up Anmer Hall for a fundraiser? Why must the Marchioness of Cholmondeley open her home for Kate's fundraiser?"
Another critic added, "Kate must think she's too uber posh to host such a gathering at her own home. It's not like she would have to do anything except show up to the events, but she probably can't manage that requirement and does not want guests lurking overnight. Wouldn't want anyone to get one glimpse of the children either!"
