Kate Middleton News: The Duchess Finally Gets To Work Amid Reports That Say She’s A ‘Lazy Duchess’ [VIDEO]
Don't call her Kate-do-little anymore. Apparently, Kate Middleton is reading all of the criticism about her in the gossip magazines, as she's put in quite the effort in fulfilling her royal duties lately. In fact, there's a new report that says the often-reclusive Duchess was spotted attending the opening of a new shop of the East Anglia Children's hospices and charities.
While her husband Prince William has been forced to defend himself from critics who say that he's been not putting enough hours into his day job as the Duke of Cambridge, his wife Kate has been pounding the payment to show her fellow citizens that she does indeed care about her local charities.
According to Celebrity Dirty Laundry on Friday, the Duchess made the effort to drive the short distance from her home in Amner Hall to the village of Holt to make purchases from the local EACH shop.
What's more, locals say that despite the effort, Kate wasn't able to get a certain item that was on her son Prince George's wish list.
Sarah Throssell, East Anglia Children's Hospices regional retail manager revealed, "[George] asked [Kate] to look for a helicopter but we hadn't got any."
But the Duchess did meet shop volunteers, supports and staff. One volunteer revealed, "Kate confessed that she normally bought cookery books in charity shops.
"They're the ones I always look out for," the Duchess reportedly told the EACH volunteer.
The report goes on to say that East Anglia Children's Hospices provides at-home care and support to over 700 children and young people living with life-threatening illnesses across Cambridgeshire, Essex, Norfolk and Suffolk.
