'The Voice' Recap: Second Night of Blind Auditions, Promising Acts for Shakira & Adam Levine [Video]
On the second night of blind auditions for The Voice, egos continued to be the major factor as Usher, Shakira, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton all tired to convince promising singers to join their respective teams on March 26.
When a duo from Idaho, Midas Whale, caused all coaches to turn their chairs, Blake Shelton used his veteran status and the fact that he has won the show twice to try swaying the singers.
Shelton said of choosing the other coaches, "I hope you don't screw up the rest of your lives."
But the duo went to Levine and Shelton ended up having a slower day.
He tried his antics again when a young woman from the Bronx, Cathia, sung in Spanish.
"I'd just hate to see somebody as talented and beautiful as her end up as an experiment on two different coaches who never even been on this show before," Shelton said.
Yet Shakira ultimately won her over, reminding her that Shakira has experience as a bilingual singer and said she could help Cathia be a global star.
The last singer, Sarah Simmons, got all of the contestants to turn their chairs. In a desperate attempt, Shelton kept yelling "Pick Blake," while she was making her decision.
However, she picked Levine, who told her she could 150 percent win the show.
The blind auditions continue on April 1 at 8 p.m.
