Mimi Faust might have said that her and Stevie J’s daughter, Eva, along with Faust’s friend, Ariane, were the only ones who was aware of her new same-sex relationship on VH1’s Love & Hip Hop Atlanta. But in her latest interview, Faust clarifies on what her daughter really knows just days after it came out that Stevie J did not approve of her dating a woman and bringing her around their child.

Faust said on the season five premiere of the hit series, “I’ve been seeing Chris for a while now. But for the exception of Ariane and my daughter, no one knows about this. But guess what? That’s all about to change.”

Many fans presumed that Faust was saying her daughter knew about her relationship with the woman, Chris. But she said in an interview with Page Six Friday that her daughter doesn’t know what’s really going on between them.

“Eva doesn’t know that Chris and I are like that. I don’t have any type of PDA in front of my daughter with Chris and Eva just looks at her as mommy’s friend.”

She said that could change in the future if she and Chris continue dating.

“If I get really serious with Chris and we’re going to be life partners, of course I will let Eva know that this is something more than just mommy’s friend. I have to be very certain about that first…”

As for Stevie J, TMZ reported that he told the publication he wasn’t a fan of Chris and Faust’s relationship playing out in front of their daughter.
Faust said that she and Stevie have yet to talk about his alleged feelings.

“He actually hasn’t had a conversation with me. I was very insulted by [what he said]. He left his family to be with someone else and who I choose to date isn’t any of his business.”

Faust also seemed to clap back on Instagram Thursday.

“In 2016 we should not be using gay and lesbian as a way to degrade someone. Someones sexuality is not a reflection of their character and more importantly, what type of parent they are. The most important thing is that the child feels love regardless of whether it comes from a man or a woman…”

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta airs Mondays at 8/7c on VH1.
