It hasn't been long since she once again disappeared from the canvas on General Hospital, but Kimberly McCullogh is already planning another return to the soap--and this time she'll be back for a very big event--the 2016 Nurses' Ball!

McCullogh briefly came back to the show earlier this year to help usher off her on-screen husband, Patrick Drake, who was portrayed by Jason Thompson before he joined The Young and the Restless as Billy Abbott. However, despite moving to Berkeley with her husband and daughter, she will officially make it back to Port Charles in order to take in the festivities of the annual event.

In an interview with Soap Opera Digest, McCullogh shared her excitement over getting to return for the Ball, an event she has sadly missed out on for some time due to only being a featured guest star on the soap these days due to her other numerous projects.

"I honestly can't even remember the last one that I went to," she said. "The Nurses' Ball [became a big deal] because of Stone, so it's nice that I actually get to show up."

The event is one where the nurses at GH put together a special performance and proceeds are meant to raise money for AIDS research, in honor of the character Robin was first in love with back in the 90s. And as excited as she is to be coming back for it this year, McCullogh admits she had no idea she'd be asked back so quickly by Executive Producer Frank Valentini.

"In December, when I shot the happy ending of Robin going off into the sunset with Patrick and Emma, he was like, 'Oh, we're definitely going to have you back,' and I was like, 'Really? How?' He said, 'Oh, we'll figure out a way,'" she said. "A few weeks ago, I texted Frank just to check in, and I shared the news with him that I am directing another episode of Pretty Little Liars. He was congratulatory, and then said, 'So, are you available?' I said, 'Yeah, I'm available until the end of May, when I shoot PLL,' and then the next day, I got an email with the dates. I was like, 'Oh, cool!' I didn't know he was serious! I'm really excited and I know it's going to be really fun."

General Hospital airs Monday-Friday at 3 p.m. on ABC.
