Doctor Who's latest spinoff will be graced by the presence of a familiar face.

The BBC franchise is no stranger to double casting actors - Peter Capaldi was Caeilius and John Frobisher before he was Twelve, Karen Gillian was a soothsayer before she became Amy Pond - and Paul Marc Davis will join Class as an alum of Doctor Who, Torchwood, and The Sarah Jane Adventures. It's quite a feat for any performer enamored with the world of the Time Lord.

Davis will join Class in an unspecified role, according to Metro. Previously, the actor had a turn as The Trickster (The Sarah Jane Adventures), a blood-hungry chieftain in Doctor Who's Utopia alongside Ten (David Tennant), and a cowled leader in Torchwood.

The new series will focus on students at Who's famed Coal Hill School.

"Coal Hill School has been a part of the Doctor Who Universe since the very beginning, but that has come at a price. All the time-travelling over the years has caused the very walls of space and time to become thin," the network teased last year. "There's something pressing in on the other side, something waiting for its chance to kill everyone and everything, to bring us all into Shadow. Fear is coming, tragedy is coming, war is coming. Prepare yourselves, Class is coming."

Vivian Oparah, Greg Austin, Sophie Hopkins and Fady Elsayed will star as Class' heroes while Katherine Kelly will become their teacher.

Find out more when Class premieres later this year. Doctor Who will return to the BBC and BBC America on Dec. 25.
