'The Voice' Results Tonight 2016 VIDEO: Season 10 Top 12 Performances; Watch Paxton Ingram, Alisan Porter, Mary Sarah [VIDEO]
The heat is on for The Voice's Top 12.
Last week, the Live Playoffs neatly halved the roster, eliminating three performers from each team. While coaches Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, Pharrell Williams, and Christina Aguilera previously had the power to save their favorite contestants, now anyone angling to become the frontrunner must fall or rise on their own.
After their Monday night performances, the hopefuls can advance via the public's vote, the Instant Save, or by landing their single on the iTunes Top 10 and thereby multiplying their votes.
Check out what happened when the Top 12 took the stage:
Team Adam
The Maroon 5 frontman closed out the Live Playoffs with Laih Al-Saadi, Owen Danoff, and Shalyah Fearing still in the running. Al-Saadi tackled the Blues with Albert King's Born Under a Bad Sign, Danoff went pop with Lukas Graham's 7 Years, and Fearing turned folk for Patty Griffin's Up to the Mountain.
Team Blake
The country superstar is known for turning out stars, and Monday's episode proved that his mentees are certainly in the running to become The Voice's next winner. Mary Sarah opened the show with Carrie Underwood's So Small, Adam Wakefield took on The Allman Brothers' Soulshine, and Paxton Ingram broke the country line up with Selena Gomez's Hands to Myself.
Team Pharrell
Fans of the R&B singer's team were treated to back-to-back performances on Monday. Daniel Passino sang Michael Jackson's Human Nature ahead of Emily Keener's rendition of Elkie Brook's Lilac Wine. Hannah Huston didn't take the stage until late in the evening, but her version of Etta James' Something Got a Hold on Me was worth the wait.
Team Christina
Team Xtina's Nick Hagelin tipped his hat to Shelton with the undoubtedly nerve wracking decision to cover the star's Mine Would Be You. Bryan Bautista, meanwhile, sang Kiss from a Rose while Alisan Porter performed Stone Cold.
