'Walking Dead' Season 3 Finale: War With Woodbury Said To Get "Pretty Bloody," Details & VIDEO
AMC's The Walking Dead will be airing its season three finale this Sunday, as fans eagerly await the fates of their favorite characters.
Executive producer of the show Robert Kirkman, who is also the creator of the TWD comic book series, had previously mentioned that he had no qualms about tinkering with his comic book storyline for the TV show just as long as it was compelling enough.
"There are things that happen in the comic that you absolutely have to put in the show, otherwise you're not doing the comic justice. But maybe we move it up, maybe we move it back, we add different characters into the mix. We just do little adjustments to make it a little more compelling for the audience that is invested in the source material," he told Screen Rant.
During a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Kirkman did talk about the huge conflict between the Governor and Rick's group coming to a head, indicating that the finale would bring about an intense fight.
"Things are going to be pretty intense; it's a huge conflict, and we've been building to it this entire season. There's definitely going to be some dire consequences, and there will certainly be some casualties," Kirkman said.
Greg Nicotero, who directed last week's This Sorrowful Life episode, suggested that he and his special effects crew had more work than usual for the finale battle sequence.
"It's going to get pretty bloody. We've spent a lot of time setting it up, and it's not going to end well. Clearly, we've strayed a little bit [...] from the comic book because Lori and Judith don't die together. That's the trick of The Walking Dead - You never know. It's kind of sad that nobody is safe, but we've already shown that in the first half of the season," he said.
The Walking Dead will be airing its finale episode, Welcome to the Tombs, on Sunday, March 31 at 9 p.m. EDT. A trailer for the episode can be viewed below.
