'Person Of Interest' Season 5: Deadly Finale To Spark A Reboot? Michael Emerson Teases Future [VIDEO]
Person of Interest is gearing up for a deadly series finale, but there may be just enough pieces left over to eventfully scrape together POI: Part 2.
It's time for Harold Finch's (Michael Emerson) crime-fighting adventure to come to an end. That being said, the Machine's job is nowhere near finished. We live in a dangerous world, and, unless human nature is about to take a turn for the saintly, Finch's creation will never have a shortage of lives to save. According to Emerson, future writers could easily breath new life into the series.
"The ending, I thought, was really satisfying - and still ever so slightly open-ended, so that if someone, someday wanted to reboot this thing, or have a Chapter 2 of some sort, it wouldn't be out of the question," the actor informed TV Guide. "There are survivors ... [but] not many."
Set to air twice a week through May and June, Person of Interest's final 13 episodes will be over before you know it. Luckily for fans, the powers that be have penned a "thrilling" end to the five-year adventure.
"We're extremely excited to be able share this final season with the fans," executive producers Jonathan Nolan and Greg Plageman told IGN. "This subversive little paranoia-inducing cyberpunk-thriller is for you and would not have been possible without your support...We can't wait for you to experience this thrilling and final chapter."
Viewers can turn the page on that final chapter on May 3 with "B.S.O.D."
"Reese and Finch attempt to rescue the Machine's source code before it deteriorates beyond repair," CBS teased. "Also, Root fights for her life against an onslaught of Samaritan's agents and Fusco is faced with hard questions following the deaths of Dominic and Elias."
Person of Interest will air Mondays and Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET on CBS. Click the video below to see a preview for the premiere.
