Phaedra Parks of Bravo’s The Real Housewives of Atlanta is taking her political aspirations to another after participating in the Million Man March in D.C. last year and being an advocate for the residents of Flint in their water crisis.

“We all live in America and we want to have the American dream,” she said according to Reality TV Tuesday. “Someone has to fight for the people who don’t have an opportunity to share in the dream that we should all be living.”

As for her next step, Parks, whose claim to fame was being a lawyer for troubled singer Bobby Brown before she starred in the reality show, Parks said she hopes the community decides in her favor.

“I’m not sure where I would be the most helpful,” she said. “But I just want to show people a renaissance woman, much like myself, who has been through a lot of changes, but also a lot of successes as well, can use your voice not only for cattiness on a television show but to help people in a very positive way.”

Meanwhile, Parks is focused on her funeral home venture. She said she still has a passion for embalming and burying people. But has one concern as she been living as a single mother for a little more than a year.

“I don’t want to spread myself too thin.”

Parks’ husband, Apollo Nida, is currently serving an eight year sentence after pleading guilty to fraud charges.
