'The Voice' Locks Up Christina Aguilera for Season 3
Christina Aguilera has signed on for a third season of NBC's The Voice for a staggering $10 million.
The announcement comes after network insiders told The Wrap NBC was "considering" airing the singing competition in the fall instead of waiting until next year. This means The Voice would go head-to-head against Fox's lukewarm X Factor.
Aguilera is the first of the four judges to commit to Season 3, but NBC is hoping fellow judges Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, and Blake Shelton will remain by her side.
"We're really pleased with the entire cast," an insider told The Wrap. "You look at ([the) ratings and it's no accident."
Season 2 of The Voice premiered after Super Bowl XLVI and immediately became NBC's highest-rated entertainment show in six years with 36.7 million viewers.
