The Blacklist's search for revenge will end with a betrayal.

Liz Keen (Megan Boone) died from childbirth complications brought on by a car crash, but Red (James Spader) and the FBI are hell-bent on hunting down the villain who put her in that unfortunate situation. The two-part finale will see the Post Office team near their goal, but not before a shocking twist puts someone in unexpected danger. So, pretty much par for the course when Red's involved...

"The FBI task force's hunt for revenge nears its endgame. As Reddington and the team close in on the mysterious arch-criminal responsible for recent tragic events, they're forced to operate outside their comfort zone -- and outside the law -- in order to take down their enemy once and for all," NBC said of the first hour. A week later, "as Reddington and the task force close in on the person responsible for Liz's death, a shocking betrayal leaves them racing to save one of their own."

So who is Alexander Kirk? According to Entertainment Weekly, Kirk is a powerful leader of a global energy empire, and is somehow linked to "one of the most intimate and shocking secrets from Red's past."

As we puzzle out exactly which of Red's mysteries Kirk will bring into the light, Red will have a another very personal issue to attend to. Remember that betrayal NBC promised? It will be from someone close to the master criminal, according to TV Line.

In the meantime, viewers will get to find out more about Famke Janssen's character in "Susan Hargrave" (see a preview below).

"When Reddington links an elegant, powerful and extremely dangerous woman to the recent tragic events, the task force is forced to play a deadly cat and mouse game to stop her before she strikes again," NBC said of the May 5 episode.
