They are all devastated following the news that Sage died in a horrifying car accident, and now, Adam (Justin Hartley) will find himself haunted by the fact that the phone call she made which led to the accident was one she made to him on The Young and the Restless.

Sage called him after she left Sharon's (Sharon Case), where she had learned that Sully was actually her son, Christian, who she thought was dead. It had been assumed she was on her way to see Nick (Joshua Morrow) so she could tell him, but she had called Adam and told him she needed to talk to him about Christian. Adam and Victor (Eric Braden) were the only ones who knew Adam was Christian's biological father, and not Nick, so now, the fact that she was calling him, and may have been on her way to him when she had the accident, will cause him to feel guilt, and wonder what she may have known.

"Maybe she was on her way over here to talk to me," he says to Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) in a preview clip for the Tuesday, May 3 episode. "Maybe she was on her way to tell me I was Christian's father."

The fact that Sage did call him about Christian will have him worried and haunted because he had decided not to let anyone know the truth about his being the baby's father in order to give Nick the gift of the family he wanted with Sage, and he knew Sage hadn't known the truth. Now, after realizing she may have clued into it, he will decide to pay his father a visit at the prison, to see if he had done the unthinkable and told Sage the truth.

Now, whether she had known the truth or not, Adam will feel racked with guilt, because his brother is suffering, first from losing the son he thought was his (since no one knows Sully is Christian now other than Sharon), and now, his wife as well.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
