Every week, Agents of SHIELD's Lincoln Campbell is increasing his chances of becoming the Fallen Agent. After all, he's flirting with death even more than he flirted with Daisy.

Despite his recent actions, ol' Sparky (Luke Mitchell) isn't actively trying to kill himself. Instead, he's suffering from a classic case of love and fear. Daisy (Chloe Bennet) is gone, and not only did Lincoln lose his girlfriend to Hive (Brett Dalton), he also lost the only person who's ever helped him keep his anger in check. An angry, out-of-control Lincoln is NOT someone we need stumbling into a high-stakes battle.

"He doesn't have a death wish," Mitchell told Entertainment Weekly in the wake of "Failed Experiments." "He makes these decisions, but you still see the fear in him when he does this. It's not just bravado. He cares about his life. He wants to live, he wants to make something of his life, but he doesn't see anything without Daisy in the picture. He'll do whatever he has to do, which makes him dangerous."

As Coulson (Clark Gregg) looks to bench Lincoln, there is a chance that SHIELD could use Sparkplug's discontentment as a way to draw Daisy out. But only if the Director wants to risk putting him in the field.

"He uses their connection to make Daisy believe that he really wants out," Mitchell explained. "It's not too big of a leap to make, because Lincoln is very much an outsider within S.H.I.E.L.D."

Next week during "Emancipation," SHIELD's problems will only increases thanks to Captain America: Civil War.

"With only two episodes left before S.H.I.E.L.D. loses one of their own, Daisy's prophecy ticks closer towards a major loss, as the aftermath of the events of "Marvel's Captain America: Civil War" force S.H.I.E.L.D. to register the Inhumans," ABC teased.
