The world of Person of Interest is hardly conducive to thriving romantic relationships, but that hasn't stopped Root and Shaw from trying. When the pair are finally reunited, you can expect them to pick up right where they left off.

Shaw (Sarah Shahi) fell into the clutches of Samaratin last year, but, when episode 4 rolls around, she'll find her way back to Team Machine.

"I've had a lot of people tweeting me about the Root/Shaw scene. Specifically, a lot of people were asking how long the scene is," TV Line's Matt Mitovich teased in a Facebook live stream on Thursday. "It is about 70 second long, and about 67 of those seconds are torrid."

While Root (Amy Acker) is clearly over the moon, Shaw's paranoid and reckless behavior will have other members of Finch's (Michael Emerson) squad wondering if their enemy made a successful run at brain washing their friend. Acker's character will be loath be believe anything is out of the ordinary.

"Root is caught somewhere between elation and trepidation; Shaw is damaged goods," executive producer Greg Plageman teased, according to TV insider. "The rest of Team Machine definitely has more trust issues when it comes to Shaw 2.0 than Root: in Root's eyes, it's still Shaw. But is she really?"

Brainwashed or not Shaw will use the final season to get closer to her girlfriend. After all, the pair didn't have much time to cement their relationship before the former Marine went MIA. Unfortunately, happily ever after is nigh impossible on Person of Interest.

"Writing to that has been one of the fun things about the last couple of seasons for me, but it's not really a relationship show," executive producer Jonathan Nolan told Entertainment Weekly. "Yes, there will be fireworks in all different directions, but this is the final season, so anyone looking for a happy ending will be sadly, probably disappointed."
