Gilmore Girls fans might not get the epic binge-watching event they've been waiting for.

Rory (Alexis Bledel) and Lorelai (Lauren Graham) will make their mega-hyped return on Netflix later this year, but, contrary to the streaming giant's regular format, the revival may be doled out piecemeal.

In fact, that's the release schedule series creator Amy Sherman-Palladino is hoping for.

"My preference would be they would not be released at once, because I feel like there's going to be anticipation, and I think the diehard fans would enjoy it more with a little separation," the writer informed TV Line.

Considering Sherman-Palladino has never let us down before (season 7 wasn't her doing), we're willing to bite the bullet and keep our anticipation high even if the four 90-minute episode are weeks (months?!) apart.

After all, if Gilmore Girls: Seasons goes well, Stars Hollow could have a future beyond "Winter," "Spring," "Summer," and "Fall."

"To read the final episode, it's not totally final," Graham told Entertainment Weekly. "In the horror movie equivalent, all the aliens are dead. Wait. No, they're not! I keep saying, 'Hey, does anyone else notice this isn't actually an ending?' Amy and Dan [Palladino] just giggle at me."

Hmmm...perhaps those "Final Four Words" will be used to prop the door open...

What do you think? We're you already stocking up on Red Vines and mallomares for you're Gilmore Girls binge watching party, or would you rather have a little breathing room between the 90-minute mini movies? We know what Rory and Lorelai would chose - after all, no one watches movie marathons quite like our favorite pop culture gurus. Give us your opinion in the poll below!
