Supergirl will soar into season 2...on The CW.

For the first time, executive producer Greg Berlanti's entire DC TV Universe will fall under one umbrella this fall. The CW proved to be prime real estate for the tales of the Green Arrow (Stephen Amell), the Flash (Grant Gustin), and Rip Hunter's (Arthur Darvill) Legends, and soon the network will add Kara Danvers (Melissa Benoist) to the line up.

Supergirl got her start on CBS, but much like the wayward Kryptonian, the series just didn't fit in. Crime dramas are the order of the day over on the Eye network, and, after considering the heroine's modest but respectable ratings, CBS has opted to move Supergirl over to its offshoot.

The move is hardly surprising. After all, The CW seems to air more sci-fi than Syfy. From comic book adaptations, to post-apocalyptic thrillers, to tales of the supernatural, The CW is one stop shopping for anyone looking to dive into the world of the impossible.

Having the Berlanti superheroes all on the same network will also prove a boon for the dramas' interconnected storylines. The CW DC microcosm seamlessly connected Arrow, The Flash, and Legends of Tomorrow in an epic crossover event earlier this year, but since Supergirl followed a different airing schedule, writers' attempts to merge Kara and Barry Allen's stories fell short of expectations. Now, however, Berlanti's crew will be able to transition Earth-1 denizens to and from National City with ease.

Well, "ease" is a relative term. Jumping between parallel universes isn't quite as simple as hopping the express train from Starling City to Central City. Luckily, the Rip's Waverider is ready to go the distance.

"The Waverider can do [anything] and go anywhere," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg told Entertainment Weekly.
