'The Flash' Season 2: Finale To Dwarf Last Year's, Kevin Smith Teases 'Mad Genius' Ending [VIDEO]
If you thought last year's Flash finale was big, you've better brace your self for "The Race of His Life."
Barry (Grant Gustin) and Zoom's (Teddy Sears) ultimate faceoff is barreling down on us, and, according to nerd guru/episode 21 director Kevin Smith, the final two episodes will blow you away. At the helm for "The Runaway Dinosaur," Smith has a chance to glimpse the episode breakdowns for "Invincible" and "The Race of His Life." Without giving away anything major, the Fat Man on Batman host teased the epic season 2 conclusion on Monday.
"What they decided to do for the absolute season finale...it's crazy. This is a show that ends big. It's not even like last season [when] they ended on a huge high note with the season finale where [Jay's] hat comes through at the end," Smith explained. "It felt like that season finale was huge. It felt like the last three episodes of this [season] - and I'm not throwing mine in for ego or anything like that, but the storyline that happens in that episode, the Barry stuff, is really crucial to the last two episodes so it feels like a kind of triumvirate of episodes--ends insanely."
The finale will receive a shocking set up courtesy of Sears' character. In other words, make sure you don't miss the final moments of "Invincible."
"There was something that happened in [episode 22] that involves you in a big bad way, that I was like, 'Ahhh!' I wished that I directing [it] because it is mad genius," Smith teased cryptically.
Could this have something to do with an upcoming betrayal? Someone will pull a double-cross in the finale, and, while the shocker will stun Barry, there's no way to know whether or not the plot twist will resolve in his favor.
