CBS has released its first promo for Big Brother 18, which is set to premiere in less than a month.

Everyone's favorite guilty pleasure is back before you know it, so CBS is already promoting the upcoming season.

The new promo, released on Thursday, is a unique departure from the usual promotional material CBS gives the show. The Big Brother 18 promo has an artistic, modern feeling, plus a new logo.

The promo also gives a detailed explanation of what Big Brother is, in what seems to be an attempt to court new viewers.

"Get ready people, Big Brother is back," the hip-sounding voiceover says. "You know that show, a bunch of strangers move into a big house, cut off from the outside world - kind of like living in the South Pole. Cameras and microphones record their every move, they're basically rats in a cage for your viewing pleasure. So, don't be afraid to tap on the glass. In the beginning it's all kittens and rainbows, but after the first champagne toast, the claws come out."

Of course, there's no Big Brother without Julie Chen, so she gets mentioned as well.

"What better way to spend your summer?" the voiceover asks.

It remains to be seen if this season of Big Brother will be better received than the past few. Big Brother 17 was a divisive season, with some praising the gameplay and characters like John "Johnny Mac" McGuire, James Huling and Vanessa Rousso, while others found the cast too unlikable. Big Brother 16 faced a similar fate, with winner Derrick Levasseur's domination ultimately proving to be a predictable finish.

Big Brother 18 is slated to premiere Wednesday, June 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS. The premiere will be two hours long, after which the series will air Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Sundays at 8 p.m. ET/PT and Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
