The Flash's Barry Allen hasn't seen the last of Zoom, no matter what goes down in the season 2 finale.

Central City's Scarlet Speedster and the demonic Earth-2 villain are primed for a showdown. With just two episodes left in the season, the stakes couldn't be higher. Zoom (Teddy Sears) has a small army of metas waiting to take over Earth-1, and, now that he has his speed back, the Flash (Grant Gustin) will have to pull out all the stops to put his nemesis in the ground.

According to Sears, "Invincible" and "The Race of His Life" won't go as expected.

"Obviously, Zoom is going to face off with Barry Allen, they're going to have a thing, which they have to do. They have to sort of meet in one final, high-noon style shoot 'em off. The good guy's got to face the bad guy," Sears teased on Fat Man on Batman. "It's easy to say, 'We know what its building up to. The Flash is going to win, right?' But is so not that simple. It so doesn't end at that place. It ends [and] I think everyone's going to be looking around like, 'Holy f--k. What the f--k are you guys going to do for season 3?'"

Whatever the writers have planned for next fall, it certainly could feature the return of Jay/Hunter/Zoom. Sears will star in 24: Legacy during the 2016-2017 season, but his work on the Fox series won't preclude a spot on The Flash.

"The door's not shut," the actor teased. "I'm not giving anything away about how things have ended...but moving onto 24 is not preventative."
