'Vampire Diaries' Season 4 Spoilers: Klaus' Future & Finale Script Revealed, VIDEO
With the season 4 finale almost here, fans of the CW hit Vampire Diaries will be happy to know that its script is now completed.
On April 4, executive producer Julie Plec took to Twitter to give the official word that writing for the finale episode is done. He wrote, "And oh yeah, @carolinedries and I handed in the TVD finale script tonight. It's a little bananas, if we do say so ourselves."
One of Plec's followers went on to query whether the finale, which will air on May 16, would have Klaus' (Joseph Morgan) favorite doodling subject. The executive producer responded by saying, "[S]**t. No ponies. #emergencywrite."
Plec recently spoke to She Knows and elaborated on Klaus' presence in the upcoming Originals backdoor pilot moving forward:
"Klaus will step away from Mystic Falls to pursue a mystery that will take him to New Orleans. The idea being that though he won't return to live in Mystic Falls necessarily, should the spin-off move forward, it certainly won't be the last we saw of him in Mystic Falls. We'll see more of him over the course of the season."
While Plec is hopeful that The Originals spin-off will go over well enough to get the network's green light for more episodes, she does have a backup plan for the character. She said, "Of course, if the spin-off doesn't go to series, he'll be right there wreaking havoc with Caroline."
Plec also spoke about Klaus' physical presence and how it impacts most of the other characters on the vampire series. Klaus is immortal and he can only die by the hands of a white oak stake. Plec said, "if he ever dies, then all of our heroes die with him. That definitely ensures his longevity."
Next up for The Vampire Diaries is its Pictures of You episode, which is scheduled to air on April 18 at 8 p.m. EDT. An extended promo trailer can be viewed below.
