'Survivor 33' Preview: Jeff Probst Reveals Why 'Millennials vs Gen X' Features 'Greatest Location' Ever [VIDEO]
Survivor: Kaoh Rong may have ended mere days ago, but fans are already buzzing about the show's next season.
Survivor host Jeff Probst introduced the theme, title and location for season 33 during Wednesday night's reunion show. The concept is "Millennials vs. Gen X," which is also being used as the title of the season, pitting millennials (younger players) versus Generation X (older players).
Probst expanded upon this concept in a new Entertainment Weekly interview, also predicting that the audience will take to this season.
"It will hook you quickly because you will identify with one group or the other. The differences between the two groups are quickly apparent, and the Millennials often left me challenging my own way of looking at the world," Probst said.T"here is so much appealing energy from the Millennials, and yet often that energy leads to quick decisions that aren't always well thought out. With Gen X, you see a tendency to overthink and get stuck in one way of thinking, which can prevent mistakes, but can also hold you back from seizing opportunities. I feel really confident the audience is going to enjoy the season very much."
This season was filmed in Fiji, a location Probst praised heavily.
"We are in the greatest location of all time. This is my favorite spot. I love it," he said. "Beautiful islands, amazing water, great underwater shots, lots of fishing, and great camp life. I can't stress how much I enjoyed it, and the audience will too. It's everything you want in a Survivor location."
Survivor has divided players by age twice in the past. The first was in Survivor: Panama, which featured four tribes consisting of younger men, younger women, older men and older women and the other was Survivor: Nicaragua, which was a simple "young vs. old" tribe split.
Survivor: Millennials vs. Gen X airs this fall Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on CBS.
