'The Flash' Season 2: Barry To 'Put His Morals Aside'? Grant Gustin Talks Killing Zoom
When you see The Flash's Barry Allen, you think mild-mannered superhero; a man out for justice without the bloodshed. Now that Zoom has robbed our hero of his father, however, the season 2 finale will portray the Scarlet Speedster in a very different light.
Tuesday's "The Race of His Life" will set the Flash (Grant Gustin) and Zoom (Teddy Sears) on the road to their finale showdown. The stakes couldn't be more personal, and when asked if Barry was out for blood, Gustin was fairly definitive in his answer.
"Yeah, he is, I think," the actor told IGN at The CW upfronts. "To Zoom, this was a game and he wanted Barry to realize that they we're one in the same. To prove a point he killed his father in front of him I think at this point, Barry could probably put most of his morals aside and if he had the opportunity."
Barry was luckily robbed of the opportunity to end the Reverse Flash, and we hope someone will throw the breaks on the speedster's new thirst for vengeance. Zoom has to be stopped - that's not even a question - but we'd hate to see Barry loose his innocence because of it. Unfortunately for Central City's hero, he will have zero time to deal with his father's death before the finale begins.
"Going into the finale he's not dealing. It's a direct pick up, so he's not dealing with it a all when we first find him," Gustin explained. "Everything that's happened has just happened throughout the entire finale, so he's more broken and devastated then we've ever seen him."
