'The Blacklist' Season 4: Will Tom Appear? Ryan Eggold Details 'Redemption' Spinoff Plans [VIDEO]
Don't worry, Blacklist fans; Tom Keen will pull double duty this fall.
The former spy is currently MIA with baby Agnes thanks to Alexander Kirk (Ulrich Thomsen), but, when the NBC series returns this fall, he'll have plenty of story to tell. Tom (Ryan Eggold) will jump to the Blacklist's spin off, The Blacklist: Redemption, while still popping up in Lizzie's (Megan Boone) world.
"They're figuring it out," Eggold told the Today show. "I think were going to try to go back and forth and focus on the spinoff while staying involved with the show. They're going to, I think, built sort of a bigger mythology between the two shows, which could open up the world and make it kind of fun if you're a Blacklist fan."
You will definitely see Tom in the Blacklist premiere, particularly since Redemption's eight-episode season won't begin until later in the 2016-2017 season.
Tom will definitely be in a number of the beginning episodes - or so I'm told - in Season 4," Eggold informed TV Line. "It will partly be to send us down the trajectory of this new series, and for the characters, we'll find out what happens between Tom and Liz and what happens with this baby girl they both share. What is the future of that? We're going to deal with that in the beginning of season 4 and then make our way to a brand-new series."
As Lizzie meets her father on The Blacklist, Redemption will see Tom deal with his own family situation. Right of the bat, we know that Femke Janssen's Scottie Hargrave is Tom/Jacob's mother. As the season progresses, the audience will learn exactly how Eggold's character wound up abandoned on the streets, thus leading him into a life of crime.
