WWE 'Smackdown' Spoilers, Results For April 12 Taping: Ziggler Interrupted By Swagger, Del Rio & Jericho [VIDEO]
Following a rushed product at Wrestlemania that left a majority of the WWE Universe disappointed, the WWE brass tried to right its wrongs.
The company attempted to do so by not only airing a match that was cut from the WM card, but by finally allowing Dolph Ziggler to successfully cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase on Raw.
Taped at the TD Garden in Boston, the WWE continued its quest to appease its fans with its latest installment of Smackdown.
The April 12 show kicked off with Big E Langston introducing the new World Heavyweight champion Ziggler, who received a huge ovation. He was soon interrupted by former confidant Jack Swagger along with his mouthpiece Zeb Colter, who stated that they're entitled to the Heavyweight belt.
An injured Alberto Del Rio came out soon after to say he'll be looking for a rematch once he's all healed up. Chris Jericho interrupted as well, and challenged The Showoff for the title.
In a tag team bout, Team Hell No was victorious against the Prime Time Players, as Daniel Bryan won with the No Lock. The Shield soon appeared on the scene informing the odd tag team that they're in justice's cross heirs, which could potentially lead to a feud at the upcoming Extreme Rules pay-per-view.
Other Smackdown outcomes included the following:
Wade Barrett defeated Santino Marella.
Tamina and The Bella Twins defeated Kaitlyn and The Funkadactyls.
Sheamus and Randy Orton defeated The Big Show by a countout.
Kofi Kingston defeated Antonio Cesaro in a non-title match.
Dolph Ziggler defeated Chris Jericho to retain the World Heavyweight title.
The respective Smackdown installment will be airing at 8 p.m. EDT on Friday, April 12. Keep checking back for more of the latest WWE spoilers. The Showoff's post-Wrestlemania moment on Raw can be viewed below.
