'Rachel Zoe Project' Cancelled? Low Ratings Has The Show Going Downhill
It's been renewed for a fifth season but The Rachel Zoe Project may be cancelled soon due to its low ratings, according to New York Magazine’s The Cut.
The Wed, April 3rd showing of the reality series attracted only 518,000 viewers - lower than its season 1 premiere in September 2008, which had 527,000 viewers.
“The decision has been made to cancel Rachel’s show… all we are waiting for is the announcement,” a production insider told Radar Online. "The ratings are lackluster and Bravo has decided that Rachel’s show has run its course."
The source added that audiences complained of Zoe surrounding herself with positive people, unlike her previous employers.
“Viewers loved the drama of Rachel’s staff. There isn’t any of that anymore,” the source said.
A previous report stated that the stylist's once popular program has lost close to 40 percent of its audience across the key 18-49 demographic, an area coveted by networks and advertisers. The reality show follows Zoe as a stylist to the stars while she tries to juggle deadlines, fashion shows and clients in an effort to take her business to the next level.
To add further insult, Zoe's former assistant Brad Goreski - with whom she had a falling out with in the past, is coming back for a third season of his own Bravo reality show.
