Fans are hoping the petition to bring back Nashville will work its charm.

As of Monday, there were more than 151,000 signatures on that petition. Then just one day later, the petition stands at 159,000.

This is becoming so popular that more than 8,000 signatures have been placed in a single day. This might be one of the biggest petitions to bring back a series in a good while.

The question is though, will it actually work? It's definitely a possibility since there have already been some theories that the show could return on a different network.

In a report from Entertainment Weekly, ABC entertainment president Channing Dungey opened up on the series' cancellation as well as letting Castle go off the air as well. It wasn't an easy decision to make, but TV is still business.

"In terms of behind the scenes things that were happening on bothCastle and Nashville, the studios in each case were looking for the best creative and financial ways to make room for a ninth season of Castle or a fifth season of Nashville," Dungey said. "They were definitely engaged in a bunch of conversations at the studio they felt would set them up for the best [chance] of success should they get the order."

With a new line-up coming out this fall, unfortunately, it didn't seem like it would work out with these two shows on this network.

"In terms of what we were discussing internally on the network side, it was [what was] best for the schedule and, obviously, looking at ratings, looking at our own planning and looking at some of the new development," Dungey said. "A lot of those decisions really did come down to the wire, which is a difficult thing about these jobs. You have to weigh and measure a lot of different things."
