'American Horror Story' News: Evan Peters Reveals Which Role He Wishes To Have Done Better [VIDEO]
Evan Peters may have some of the most memorable roles in American Horror Story's five-season history, but there's one performance he wishes he could have done better.
Peters is the only actor to have main role in all five seasons of American Horror Story, becoming one of the show's go-to stars in the process. While he has certainly given it his all in roles like Tate Langdon in AHS: Murder House and James Patrick March in AHS: Hotel, there is one role that sticks out to him that could have been improved upon.
Peters spoke with Observer recently about wishing he could have done more with Kit Walker in AHS: Asylum.
"I was still figuring out how to act, really," he admitted, of his second role on the series. "I was still playing around with things, trying to experiment and figure out what worked best for me and how to get the job done. A lot was thrown at me, and I felt like I wasn't able to do it as well as I could have."
Regardless, Peters has become a more seasoned actor in subsequent years, taking on a thick transatlantic accent as Mr. Msrch in Hotel.
"March was a dream role for me," Peters said. "I based him a lot on William Powell's character in My Man Godfrey. He's very sophisticated, an aristocrat."
Through filming Hotel, Peters developed a love of art deco, an aesthetic seen frequently throughout that season. He also came to appreciate the choice on showrunner Ryan Murphy's part to film the series analog (with film) rather than digitally.
"It's this dying art form, because everything is digital now," he said, of analog film. "You don't get playback, which is a blessing and a curse. It's old-school and it looks gorgeous. But on the other hand, you don't know how things are looking, or how it's gonna turn out."
Peters is expected to return for season 6 of American Horror Story, though it remains to be seen how large his part may be.
American Horror Story season 6 premieres this fall on FX.
