'Game of Thrones' Season 6 Spoilers: Has Show Foreshadowed Two Major Deaths? [VIDEO]
Season six has been brutal when it comes to the heartbreaking death count (RIP Hodor, Summer and Shaggy Dog), but two other big deaths may still be ahead on Game of Thrones.
Two theories have surfaced which suggest not only some big deaths (one which fans won't mind and one which will rip their hearts out completely) in the final four episodes, but also indicate that the show may be hinting at them, including a few seasons back.
There may have been a hint at the High Sparrow's (Jonathan Pryce) death way back in Season four, before he was even introduced to the show narrative, and it very well may have suggested that none other than Margaery (Natalie Dormer) who will take him down.
The scene from season four involved Margaery and her grandmother, Olenna Tyrell (Diana Rigg) were picking jewelry for her then wedding to Joffrey. Referencing his violent tendencies, Margaery made a comment about wearing a string of "dead Sparrow heads" around her neck.
Since the religious group is known as the Sparrows, this leads to speculation that despite her and Tommen (Dean Charles Chapman) joining in an alliance with the Sparrows to prevent her from having to do a Walk of Shame, Margaery has a very different plan up her sleeve, especially since her brother, Loras (Finn Jones), is still imprisoned.
The show has used subtle references to a character's death in the past before, including when Littlefinger said that men died "squatting over their chamber pots," and Tywin then died while doing just that.
However, the fact that Arya (Maisie Williams) used "having to meet her father" as an excuse to get away from Lady Crane, whom she was supposed to kill, has caused waves as well, since it's well-known that Ned Stark is long gone.
Of course, there is another popular theory which suggests that Arya will survive, even though the Faceless Men are now after her for failing to complete two different assignments. The theory suggests that now that she is heading back to Westeros, after completing training as a Faceless Man, that she may be resurrecting a popular character from the books.
Many have expected that Lady Stoneheart, a zombified version of Catelyn Stark, would make an appearance this season to get revenge on the Freys for the Red Wedding. The Freys have also been on Arya's kill list, and now, with her training and her knowledge of how to wear a different face to commit a crime, the theory suggests that she will wear her mother's face as she exacts revenge.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. on HBO.
