The season 2 finale of Fox’s hit show Empire left us with many questions—including who was pushed off the balcony at the end. Now, some of the series’ biggest stars have opened up about what we can expect when the show returns this fall.

TMZ caught up with Jussie Smollett, who plays the middle brother Jamal Lyon, earlier this month.

While he was all smiles, he made it clear he couldn’t spill if it was Rhonda Lyon (actress Kaitlyn Doubleday) or Anika Calhoun (Grace Gealey) who fell off the balcony to their death. The ladies were in an all-out fight after Anika finally admitted she was the one who pushed Rhonda down the stairs in hopes of making her miscarry her and Andre Lyon’s child. Anika wanted her own baby to be the next heir after she found out she was pregnant with Hakeem Lyon’s child.

Smollett added, “I can’t… But you will see in September for sure.”

Taraji P. Henson, who plays viewer favorite Cookie Lyon, had a slightly different answer when she spoke with Dish Nation.

They pointed out that Doubleday was not present at a special Empire event, and asked Henson if that was an indication that she is the one who died.
“Kaitlyn will be here any minute,” Henson teased. But she added she has “no idea” who was thrown off the balcony during the intense scene.
Terrence Howard said he thought it was a terrible idea.

“I called the writing room. I pitched a fit and a monster attitude and went for all heads. When we got to set, the memo I got was ‘Make it work.’”
