'American Horror Story' Season 6: Lady Gaga Took Inspiration From Robert Durst To Play The Countess? [VIDEO]
Lady Gaga took inspiration from one of the most infamous men in modern history to play The Countess in American Horror Story: Hotel.
Gaga opened up about playing The Countess in the FX miniseries in a recent discussion with fellow actress Jamie Lee Curtis, revealing the unexpected person she chose to emulate in playing the character.
"Every day I would watch Robert Durst in The Jinx and his wife Debrah Durst and I would sort of study the practical nature in which he was devious and evil," Gaga said. "He just has this extremely practical way of explaining how he's going conceal the fact that he's dumped a body in a river and kept it in his house and cut up his best friend."
The casual confidence of The Countess does make sense when compared to the subject of The Jinx. Gaga also spoke further on delving into the darkness of her character.
"If I was going to take a guy home and f--- him and then eat him, I wouldn't know exactly how to do that," she noted, to which Curtis quipped, "Which order?"
"Well I know which order I might have to do it in," Gaga said. "Well, for The Countess though that order is debatable, right? Because she's into that sort of necro-romance as well. But during that time, you know, I became a lot more wild and crazy and matter-of-fact about things. Who I am as an artist and person changed."
Meanwhile, there are rumors of Gaga returning for season 6 of American Horror Story, which does not yet have an official title/theme. The pop superstar teased in a radio interview earlier this year that she was coming back to the show, but did not specifically say it would be for season 6. Regardless, many media outlets have been reporting that she is in fact returning for season 6, though show runner Ryan Murphy has not confirmed this.
American Horror Story season 6 premieres this fall on FX.
