He is presumed dead in Salem after Kate's (Lauren Koslow) story that Nicole (Arianne Zucker) pushed him into the river and left him to die, but Deimos (Vincent Irizarry) will turn up weak but very much alive a few miles away from town on Days of Our Lives.

After Nicole turned down his proposal and he accused her of playing him for Victor (John Aniston), Kate emerged from the bushes to confront Deimos about betraying her and trying to get out of their plans to marry. While angered she hit him with her purse, sending him into a tree. Following his head injury, a dazed Deimos fell into the river. Kate quickly sprung into action, taking the ring he had presented Nicole and putting it on her finger, getting forged marriage documents from Aiden (Daniel Cosgrove), and then going to the police with her tale.

However, though Nicole is considered the prime suspect in Deimos' presumed death and murder, Kate mistunderestimated just how badly he was injured when he fell into the river. And though he is definitely weak when he emerges, he is still alive, and will manage to get to a gas station to try and call for help. He will wind up finding help and become holed up elsewhere with a caretaker who tries to bring him back to health in the meantime.

Of course, Nicole is niow scared and nervous that she could be charged with murder and wind up in jail for a crime she knows she didn't commit, since when she walked away from Deimos at the park, he was still very much alive and not missing. She has realized now that a jealous Kate did set her up in some way, but when she went to confront her, she was stunned by Kate's claims that she and Deimos were already married.

However, now, she won't let that deter her as she tries to figure out some way she can possibly prove that Kate is lying with her story, and she will start to dig in an attempt to prove her innocence before it is too late.
