Pretty Little Liars' Rosewood PD has found a cop who can actually crack a case...or so it would seem.

Toby's employers are notoriously inept, repeatedly failing to show even a semblance of competence as malicious sociopaths terrorize the citizens of their fair city. With bodies piling up and yet another abduction to solve, Rosewood's finest will bring in a new officer.

Named Marco Furey (Nicholas Gonzalez), the department's budding Sherlock will match wits with the best of them. And by "best of them," we mean Spencer Hasting (Troian Bellisario). Long the Liars' smartest member, the politico will clearly have to double down if her squad intends to stay ahead of Toby's (Keegan Allen) new boss.

"I told [Nicholas] that Mona and Spencer are probably the smartest of all the Pretty Little Liars, and he is their equal," showrunner Marlene King previewed, according to Entertainment Weekly. "He is the first cop that's come to town who could compete intellectually with those two characters."

On one hand, Marco's arrival gives hope to anyone looking to unmask Uber A. On the other hand, his keen eye and nose for subterfuge could spell the end of the Liars' complicated lies.

As season 7 progresses, cases will pile up on Furey's desk - homicide cases, Charlotte's (Vanessa Rey) death will no longer be the only open murder in Rosewood. Uber A is clearly ready to up their game.

"This season kind of feels like someone turning on a fire hose and offering you a drink," Gonzalez teased. "It's a lot going on."

Will Gonzalez be integral to exposing the series' big bad, or will he make the Liars' lives a living hell?
