'Bloodline' Season 3: How Will John Behave In Possible Future Episodes? [VIDEO]
One of the showrunners behind Bloodline recently spoke on where the show might go in a possible third season.
Netflix still has yet to renew Bloodline for a third season, but the show's creators and writers have already discussed a plan for future episodes. With the season 2 finale concluding with John (Kyle Chandler) getting out of dodge (a.k.a. the Florida Keys), it's tough to imagine exactly how the series could pick up.
Luckily, co-creators Glenn Kessler, Todd A. Kessler and Daniel Zelman have plans for the show's future.
"[Danny (Ben Mendelsohn)] warns John that if you stay here you'll never get to be who you really are, never get to be free," Glenn told The Hollywood Reporter. "That resonates with John, so by the end of the 10th episode in this moment of crisis, he kind of has an epiphany and the actions he takes kind of follow through on what teenage Danny said to him: 'Get out and save yourself.' Absolutely a third season will pick up on that idea and what John does with that [and how it affects the family] now that he's taken the action that he's never been able to take in his life: Slough off his responsibilities to the family and look out for himself."
The season 2 finale also featured the destruction of the Rayburn family, with John getting into an intense argument with Meg (Linda Cardellini) and Kevin (Norbert Leo Butz) and going their separate ways. So will John now "look out for himself" in a potential third season much like Danny did when he was first introduced? Only time will tell.
Either way, many fans are waiting on bated breath to see if Netflix does decide to renew Bloodline. While the series certainly has plenty of viewers, it's not exactly a top-of-the-line program for Netflix like House of Cards or Orange Is the New Black. Plus, the show has run into a possible money problem, with Florida ending its tax incentive plan in July.
It remains to be seen if Bloodline will return for future episodes, though it should be good to know that the showrunners have plans.
The first two seasons of Bloodline are available to stream on Netflix now.
