It's flashback time for Blindspot.

For Jane Doe (Jaimie Alexander), season 1 was all about grasping at straws. Who is she? Where did her memories go? Who is she working for? For a while, all roads seemed to lead to Taylor Shaw. Weller's (Sullivan Stapleton) father shoved that theory into a shallow grave, however, and the finale seemed send Jane sliding back down to square one in her deadly game of Shoots and Ladders.

Luckily, that's not the case. The tattooed enigma will learn her true identity in the season premiere, a revelation that will open the door to a few childhood flashbacks. Blindspot is casting 9-year-old to 11-year-old actresses to take on the role, and their wish list is extraordinarily specific.

"Producers are specifically looking for candidates who possess a background in gymnastics or martial arts and can execute a flawless South African accent and look like a miniature Jaimie Alexander," TV Line announced on Monday.

That will have to be one heck of talented kid. I'm looking back at my pre-teen years and feeling decidedly incompetent. The youngster will recur throughout the season, according to TV Line, giving us the chance to get an in depth look at Jane's childhood. In other words, answers are neigh.

"You're going to learn Jane's real name in episode 1 of season 2. You're going to find out a lot. A lot. And it will be real this time," series creator Martin Gero told Entertainment Weekly. "The rest of the FBI team will also be privy to this new intel, and they won't take it particularly well. "They will find out in the very first episode of season 2. It runs the gamut, but none of them are happy about it."
