New details on CW's The Vampire Diaries' season 4 finale have now come out, courtesy of actress Nina Dobrev, who plays the part of Elena in the popular series.

On Thursday, Dobrev had taken to Twitter to let her followers know that the cast was in the midst of shooting a graduation scene that will be airing in the final installment of the season.

"On set, filming TVD season 4 finale episode - graduation, to be specific - the end of a chapter..bittersweet."

The 24-year-old also posted an on-set photo from the shoot.

Many fans of the series are surely wondering just what the graduation will mean to the current characters, especially with the increasing number of deaths that have occurred in the past few season finales.

According to Give Me My Remote, showrunner Julie Plec revealed some hints regarding the highly anticipated episode.

"I think it'll be a miracle if any of our characters get to show up to graduation at this point... It's funny, because we learn in episode 21 that Matt has been secretly struggling to get to the end of the year because all of these distractions have actually distracted him from school. So we made jokes in the writers' room, 'Donna Martin graduates! Let Matt Donovan graduate!"

"It means change. The more things change, the more they stay the same. We'll see who comes, who goes, who never comes back. There's all sorts of questions."

Next up for The Vampire Diaries will be its backdoor pilot episode, The Originals, which will be airing on Thursday, April 25 at 8 p.m. EDT.

Keep checking back for more of the latest details on the show.
