Entering its second season, Syfy's Dark Matter is as mysterious as it's scientific counterpart. Unlike the galaxy's most elusive hypothetical, however, viewers don't need to obtain a PhD to unspool the series' secrets. Instead, you just have to tune in Fridays at 10 p.m. ET.

Dark Matter's amnesiac protagonists are on a quest for answers, and that's just what fans will get as season 2 begins. The summer run will introduce a whole new set of questions, but that doesn't mean writers will forget about these major threads:

Why Did Six Betray The Raza Crew?

The Raza crew found it's mole all right, or, more accurately, the mole found them. Six (Roger Cross) knocked out his shipmates during the season 1 finale, allowing the Galactic Authority to sweep in and cart them away. All hiatus, fans have been wondering two things: why did he do it and how did he learn of his alleged past in law enforcement?

Look to the premiere to tie Six's tale in with the events of episode 8.

"That's an excellent theory and I point to episode eight, after he kills the General and he's sitting in a chair and a guy comes up and points a gun at him and says, 'It was a clone, so shoot, don't shoot, not going to make much of a difference in the long run,'" Mallozzi told The Hollywood Reporter. "Then the next time we see Six, he's alone. What happened in that moment between the break is going to be part of the big reveal in hopefully episode 201."

Who Is Titch?

Remember when Five (Jodelle Ferland) took that deep dive into her friends memories? She clearly identified her own past and that of Four (Alex Mallari, Jr.), but the pint-sized mechanic was left wondering when she stumbled into the mind of a young boy named Titch. Five surmised the reminiscences must belong to One/Derrick Moss (Marc Bendavid) or Three/Marcus Boone (Anthony Lemke). Now, we will finally learn the truth.

"All will be revealed in Episode 204," showrunner Joseph Mallozzi teased.

What Is On Five's Keycard?

Five's pickpocket skills resulted in the death of all her young street friends before ultimately landing her on the Raza. What did she steal that was so vitally important? A non-descript keycard. What's on it? God, we wish we knew.

"We set up a lot of questions in season 1, paid off a number of them, but will be answering plenty more in season 2 (ie. What's the deal with that key card in FIVE's possession? Why did SIX betray the crew? Who IS Titch?)," Mallozzi revealed. "Along the way, we'll be presented with more questions...that we'll answer in season 3."

What The Heck Is Going On With Two?

Ahhh, yes, the Raza's seemingly indestructible leader. Packed with nanites and black market biotech, Two/Portia/Rebecca (Melissa O'Neil) has a complicated history with Alexander Rook (Wil Wheaton). It seems as if Dwarf Star is using herself as a proving ground to save a mysterious old man, and Two will dive into her complicated past late in the season.

"You might have to wait a little bit but we will get there," O'Neil teased. "A lot happens this season."

Catch Dark Matter's season 2 premiere this Friday at 10 p.m. ET on Syfy.
