'Quantico' Season 2: Blair Underwood Cast, Is He A Mentor Alex Can Actually Trust? [VIDEO]
Quantico is filing out its compliment of CIA agents, and that means bringing Blair Underwood into the fold.
Agents of SHIELD Underwood will swap his Inhuman persona for that of an Agency adviser this fall, placing his unnamed character in a position to influence the CIA's impressionable recruits. Alex Parrish's (Priyanka Chopra) track record with mentors is rocky at best, but perhaps Underwood's unnamed character will turn it around.
"An inspirational CIA officer every fledgling operative wishes he or she could learn from," Deadline teased. "But is he running them, or using them for something else?"
Hmm...Underwood sounds a bit like Liam 2.0. At this rate, Alex will never find her law enforcement Obi-Wan. It's a good thing she can kickass all on her own. Whatever the case, you can expect the Quantico writers to capitalize on Underwood's extensive oeuvre
"Blair Underwood is the kind of actor you dream of writing for. Be it romantic comedy, dark drama, or high-octane thriller - there is nothing he can't do," series creator Joshua Safran said. "We look forward to creating a role that will showcase his huge range and boundless charisma."
Underwood's character won't be the only one with magnetism to spare. Russell Tovey's Harry Doyle will shake up the CIA as a "part Thomas Crown, part grown-up Artful Dodger" newbie who "is just as likely to seduce your husband as he is to pick his pocket when it's over."
Let's hope these two men can put their charm to work for the better (we doubt it). A major case is about to come their way, and the FBI and CIA will need all hands on deck.
"The event in season 2 is probably even bigger than season 1 on some level," Safran told Entertainment Weekly. "But while it is bigger, it's also more contained. It allows us to feel more rooted every time we travel from one timeline to another. Again, if season 1 was sort of The Fugitive, season 2 has another blockbuster in mind."
