Their plan to trick Ian Ward (Ray Wise) into thinking they'd help him escape prison if he testified on Adam's (Justin Hartley) behalf backfired on them tremendously, but that won't stop both Adam and Chelsea (Melissa Clare Egan) from taking extreme measures to try and continue proving his innocence on The Young and the Restless.

Adam is still under house arrest while he waits for a verdict in his trial for the death of Constance Bingham, but he will try to get Dylan (Steve Burton) to let him out so he can go see a now hospitalized Victor (Eric Braden), in an attempt to get his father to finally confess that he set him up as revenge for helping put him behind bars for his scheme with Marco.

"I'm running out of time here, and I need to prove this theory," he says in a preview clip for the Friday, July 8 episode.

"And you think confronting Victor is the only way to do that?" Dylan asks.

Despite his wariness, Dylan will agree to allow Adam to go to Victor however. But when he gets there, Adam will realize his father is trying to manipulate him into doing what he wants, as Victor will warn him that the only way to get the evidence needed to exonerate him will be if he agrees to work alongside Victor once again once he retakes the helm at Newman, since he is convinced that his heroic efforts to rescue Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott) and Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) from Ian will get him exonerated as well.

Meanwhile, Chelsea is desperate to find out just who Victor's accomplice was when it came to trying to frame Adam, and she will beg Kevin (Greg Rikaart) to try and help her find some way to identify the mystery stranger before her husband is carted off to jail, or dragged back into Victor's trap.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I'm really freaking out here," she says in the clip.

"Let me guess. Victor?" Kevin replies.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
