'Days of Our Lives' Cast News: Jen Lilley Dishes On Theresa's Exit, Tate Kidnapping, & Whether Wedding With Brady Will Happen [VIDEO]
Her character is about to be at the forefront of a major front burner story on Days of Our Lives, which will gear fans up for her exit later this year, and now, Jen Lilley is spilling some details about Theresa Donovan's exit from Salem, and what Tate's kidnapping will mean for her relationship with Brady (Eric Martsolf).
In an interview with Soapcentral.com, Lilley dished on how the new storyline involving Tate, which is set to be a major storyline throughout the summer, will not only affect Theresa as she tries to find out what happened to her son, but also the relationship she has with fiance Brady, which has had some notably strained moments in recent months.
"I think it's bringing up old feelings actually, since this is technically Tate's second kidnapping. It's stirring up all of Theresa's old insecurities and fears: she's not good enough for Brady, she's an unfit mother, she'll never be accepted by the Kiriakis family," she said. "The difference is, this time around, Theresa knows Tate is her son, and she's held him, and loved him, and raised him, so her fears and insecurities take a back burner to her love for Tate and her determination to find him. Tate's disappearance is once again making Theresa more selfless. She's putting Tate before everyone, and unfortunately, that will understandably test her relationship with Brady."
She also went into a little detail about how the situation would test the couple's relationship.
"Any time a child goes missing, the parents go through hell and sometimes never make it back out," she said. "They're going through fire. They'll either band together and come through the other side barely smelling like smoke, or they'll crash and burn. Only time will tell if they're refined like gold or burned up like chaff."
However, she wouldn't reveal if she and Brady would be one of the former couples or the latter, simply saying she has hope they can make it through everything and still wind up getting married.
"I'm an optimist," she said. "I will always hold onto hope!"
Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
