A long-gone fan-favorite character is heading back to the canvas on The Young and the Restless for a limited run.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Michael Graziadei is heading back to Genoa City to reprise his role as Daniel Romalotti Jr. this fall, and he will be around for a short while.

According to the reports, it's unclear what storyline exactly will bring back Phyllis Abbott's (Gina Tognoni) son with Danny Romalotti (his adoptive father, previously played by Michael Damian), his appearance back on-screen will coincide with the soap's 11,000th episode airing on Sept. 1.

His first air date is scheduled for Aug. 25.

Graziadei was last seen on the soap in 2013, and his return is coming at the same time that some juicy storylines have unfolded for his family.

His mother, who is married to Jack (Peter Bergmann), has been having an affair with his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson), and is torn between the two men. In the meantime, she spearheaded Adam's (Justin Hartley) kidnapping a few months ago to get her hands on some software she wanted to steal from Victor (Eric Braden), and has been a brief kidnapping victim herself thanks to Ian Ward (Ray Wise). In addition, Daniel wasn't in Genoa City when his mother was a victim of Victor's scheme with Marco Annicelli, a doppelganger for Jack who Victor hired to pose as his enemy while he was held captive elsewhere.

In addition, his sister, Summer (Hunter King), has begun dating the least-trusted man in all of Genoa City, Luca Santori (Miles Gaston Villanueva), and has also found herself often incredibly torn when it comes to her loyalties with her family as she tries to prove her value to the Newmans, but also finds herself torn by her loyalties to the Abbotts as well.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
