As a testament to Netflix's success with season 1 of House of Cards, fans have been feverishly scouring the Internet to find out the latest dirt on its second season.

Fortunately, bits and pieces of new information has recently come to fruition.

In terms of new casting, Facebook co-founder Sean Parker will reportedly come aboard for a three-episode story arc to don the role of a venture capitalist, according to U Interview.

The upcoming season will see the return of several principal cast members, including Kevin Spacey (Francis Underwood), Kate Mara (Zoe Barnes) and Robin Wright for its second season.

While Mara didn't get into details, she did speak to Zap2it in March, and expressed how super stoked she is for what's to come.

"I sort of know where the story's going to be heading, but it would be silly for me to share because that would ruin a lot of things. I'm just excited to start this season as I was to start the last one. It will be interesting to see where it goes and how it plays out," she said.

In other House of Cards news, actress Constance Zimmer recently let the cat out of the bag via Twitter to reveal that the series will soon be starting production.

"We are shooting Season 2 of House of Cards in 1 week," she tweeted.

Writer Beau Willimon had previously elaborated to The New York Times on the creative brass' unorthodox approach to the show.

"We approached this creativity as a 13-hour movie. Knowing we had two full seasons in advance, I didn't feel the pressure to sell the end of each episode with the superficial cliffhangers or shock tactics in order to keep coming back, in order to jack up the ratings week to week."

iDigital Times reported that Netflix is currently in the midst of sorting out an airdate for House of Cards so that it doesn't conflict with its next project, Arrested Development.
