One fan favorite face has been conspicuously absent recently on Days of Our Lives despite having a hot romance with J.J. Devereaux (Casey Moss), but Camila Banus has taken to social media to address Gabi's absence from the screen and promise her fans she will be back.

Banus took to Twitter July 10 to discuss the news after fans asked her where she's been.

"A lot of people have been asking why I'm not airing on Days. I was not in for a couple of months...but you will see me soon!!" She wrote.

She didn't offer an explanation as to whether her few months off were due to the writers just not giving her new material or if if she opted to have some time off from the schedule in order to work on other projects.

Banus has been busy recently filming episodes of ABC's summer hit series Mistresses, which she scored a role on back in April.

"I want to let everybody know that I'm doing a recurring role on ABC's Mistresses," she said at the time. "Season 4 starts soon (May 30) and I'm going to be on there quite a few times so you can catch me on there."

Due to Days' advanced taping schedule (episodes are taped six months in advance), it could still be some time before Banus is back on screen if her absence was related to her work for Mistresses. Material airing for the soap now was filmed back in March, so if she took off in April and May as well to work on the show, she could not be back on-screen at Days until the fall months.

The last time she was on-screen, her romance with J.J. was getting more serious, especially after both contracted the virus Yao Ling unleashed on Salem through Paul (Christopher Sean). At the time, J.J. sacrificed his own life-saving dosage of the vaccine to cure it by letting both Gabi and her daughter Ari have it first.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
