Donald Trump’s wife, Melania Trump, became the subject of countless memes and jokes after she voiced a speech during the Republican National Convention that was extremely close to Michelle Obama’s Democratic National Convention speech back in 2008. Now, Trump’s people are speaking out about it.

Melania echoed similar sentiments as the First Lady Monday night and now the rep for the Presidential hopeful, Katrina Pierson, is clearing the air and even pointed the blame at Donald’s competition, Hillary Clinton.

Extra’s AJ Calloway caught up with Pierson who said, “Plagarism is when you outright copy someone else’s work, these were Republican values…These were values, typical platitudes of success and love of family.”

As for the fact that Melania had several words that were exactly the same as Obama’s, Pierson said, “There were probably 50, 60 words that were similar. This was a speech from Melania Trump, who is a private individual, the wife of Donald Trump, who had never given a political speech in her life and those are definitely phrases that resonate with people.”

Meanwhile, Pierson said she doesn’t know if Donald is “furious” about it, but she noted that he is definitely “concerned.”

She then pointed the finger at Clinton and said that somehow, she was involved.

“This was obviously pushed out by the Clinton campaign – that’s what they do… this is the political process. Here we are talking about Melania Trump and words about life and family and hard work and the criticism of that when you have Hillary Clinton, who lied under oath to Congress about something she did while Secretary of State and a U.S. ambassador died under her watch.”

Melania is also said to be disappointed in the team and the fallout from the speech.
