His family has hoped that he could be released on an appeal because they feel he's suffered long enough after only six months in prison, but Victor's (Eric Braden) fste could come down to the testimony of the one person who demanded he still remain in prison on The Young and the Restless.

Nikki (Melody Thomas Scott), Nick (Joshua Morrow) and Victoria (Amelia Heinle) all spoke up in defense of Victor, saying their own actions at his initial trial were wrong, and they want him released, but Phyllis (Gina Tognoni) interrupted the proceedings to demand that, as Victor's victim through his plot with Marco Annicelli, he serve his entire ten year sentence. Now, the judge will take everything in as he decides whether or not to grant the request of an appeal.

"Phyllis Abbott's emotional outburst is quite a compelling case for you to stay behind bars," he notes to Victor in a preview clip for the Monday, July 25 episode.

However, despite her pleas, her testimony will have little effect on the judge's decision. As it turns out, he is Meredith's (Alicia Coppola) father, and he will tell Victor that he didn't appreciate how he used his daughter while he was incarcerated, and Victor will propose a deal. If the judge grants the appeal and lets him go free, he will promise to stay away from Meredith for good, and that deal will be exactly what the judge accepts.

Now, with the news of Victor going free spreading around town, Phyllis will begin to act more emotional and irrational than ever before due to her upset. Now only will she push Jack (P{eter Bergmann) away even further because she believes they feel way too differently when it comes to what to do about Victor, but she will then once again turn to his brother, Billy (Jason Thompson) for comfort. And if those two falling into bed again, they could risk getting caught.

The Young and the Restless airs Monday-Friday at 12:30 p.m. on CBS.
