'American Horror Story' Season 6 Theme: Concept Will Have 'Peter Pan' Meets 'Deliverance' Vibes? [VIDEO]
There is a new report which seems to provide a ton of information on season 6 of American Horror Story, including the theme.
***Potentially huge spoilers for season 6 of American Horror Story ahead***
Season 6 of American Horror Story has largely been kept under wraps by the show's cast, producers and FX itself. With less than two months to go until the season premiere, fans are dying to learn any new bits of information regarding what's ahead. Luckily, a few teaser promos have been released on Snapchat, but it's not entirely clear how they all connect.
But now there's a new report courtesy of PopWrapped that reveals the concept for season 6 and the overall feeling of the season. The publication claims to have talked to several sources close to production on AHS and the theme is apparently "Forest". They note that the sense of season 6 is a cross between Peter Pan, Deliverance and The Exorcist.
Immediately, this brings to mind children who are exploring an area they probably shouldn't and possibly becoming possessed or at the very least, having their innocence lost. The report also states that the following cast members will return for this season: Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Denis O'Hare, Kathy Bates, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Wes Bentley, Matt Bomer, Cheyenne Jackson, Leslie Jordan and Lady Gaga.
The publications sources say that "FX is definitely going back to their Horror roots" with this season, which is expected to be much more scary than recent seasons. As some have predicted/hoped for, season 6 will apparently have a "cultish" vibe.
FX has yet to officially confirm any of these details, so fans shouldn't necessarily take them as factual just yet. However, if this concept and cast does end up being truthful, it sounds like fans are in for one hell of a season.
American Horror Story season 6 premieres Wednesday, Sept. 14 at 10 p.m. ET/PT on FX.
