'Dragon Ball Super' News And Theories: Black Goku Is Zamasu In The Future? [VIDEO]
The Future Trunks saga is currently in full swing, and more revelations are set to be revealed over the next few episodes of Dragon Ball Super. Among these, of course, is the real identity of Black Goku, and if anything is sure at this point, it is that the villain's real identity will be a very big surprise.
The next episode of Dragon Ball Super would specifically deal with the real identity of Black Goku. From what could be seen in the episode's brief preview, it would appear like Son Goku would be sparring with an apprentice Kai from Universe 10, the mysterious Zamasu.
Now, it has been noted in leaks and previous episodes that Zamasu and Black Goku actually have some connection to each other. In fact, Whis and Beerus themselves even noted that the Black Goku's Ki is strangely similar to Zamasu's. Thus, while the connection between the two characters could not really be verified at this point, there is a very real possibility that the two might be one and the same.
This particular theory actually has some good points. For one, Black Goku is most certainly not a Saiyan, as could be confirmed by his actions and words since the Future Trunks arc began. He also has a very real dislike for humans, seemingly mirroring Zamasu's distrust for humanity in a lot of ways.
Considering these factors, a number of fans are speculating that the two characters might be the same, with Black Goku being Zamasu in the future. After all, Black Goku is indeed from the future, which means that his incarnation in the present might very well be a different character.
Of course, there is also the possibility that Black Goku is the representation of Zamasu's evil side. This has already been explored in the past, with Kami, the Guardian of the Earth, creating King Piccolo from his evil energies. While this particular plot twist has not been done in the Dragon Ball franchise for a while, it would not be surprising at all if DBS decides to play the same trick again.
