Things have been steadily improving for them, or so it seemed, but things will once again take a potentially dark turn for the Hernandez family on Days of Our Lives.

Rafe (Galen Gering) is now safe after Andre (Thaao Penghlis) tried to kill him and Hope (Kristian Alfonso) by attacking him in an abandoned basement and chaining him to a bomb, and things seem to be going well enough for everyone else as well, but that could change after Gabi (Camila Banus) has a scare while out and about in town.

The big thing that has been a sticking point in the family has been reluctance, mainly from Dario (Jordi Villasousa) and Adriana (Alma Delfina), to truly accept Eduardo (A Martinez) back into their loves. Though he agreed to work at Club TBD when Eduardo bought it and reopened it again, Dario has still had a hard time opening up to and forgiving his father for leaving the family behind so many years ago to carry out orders as a secret assassin. The continued threat of his past has also kept Adriana from embracing a relationship with him again, even though she does want to.

Now, Eduardo will believe he has made some headway with his younger son, and while he knows it isn't anywhere near the kind of progress he made with Rafe and Gabi a while ago, he knows it's a start, and Dario will be more open-minded to letting that fresh start take place for them as well. But, when the situation Gabi faces becomes known, that could all go right out the window.

If Gabi faces danger and it is something that can be tied back to Eduardo's past, his son will reverse his stance again because he won't want to know a relationship with a man who could bring them all heartache all over again, this time by potentially putting them at risk or worse, getting them killed. And if that happens, Eduardo could find himself starting back at square one.

Days of Our Lives airs Monday-Friday at 1 p.m. on NBC.
