'The 100' Season 4: Vital New Trishanakru Character Revealed, Who Will Snag The Role? [PHOTO]
A new Grounder will join the world of The 100 this winter, and he's not a happy camper. The City of Light disaster devastated both Arkers and Grounders a like, and Ilan will be one victim who will take ALIE's manipulation to heart.
Chai Romruen of Netflix's Mako Mermaids has landed the role of Ilan, according to Deadline, a recurring character that is "haunted by the horrors he committed while under ALIE's (Erica Serra) control." The announcement comes just one day after the first day of filming for The 100 premiere, which means the young Grounder could become a vital character previously teased at San Diego Comic-Con.
"We definitely are going to met (or get to know) someone from [what's] called Trishanakru, which is like 'tree shine.' It's the Glow Forest clan," showrunner Jason Rothenberg told EnStars. "We meet a very important character from Trishanakru in the premiere, and he'll play a big role in the season."
Could this be Ilan? Was the Glow Forest native in Polis when Jaha (Isaiah Washington) and his AI sidekick came to visit? Viewers will have to wait until 2017 to find out.
Meanwhile, there is no shortage of Grounders grieving for their lost opportunity in ALIE's alleged paradise. The horrors of life in the post-apocalypse are about to get infinitely worse, and the Arkers will carry the brunt of the blame.
"Everybody hates the Sky Crew now," Rothenberg teased. "They blame everything on them."
